
Ambur Lindstrom-Mette
DNP, FNP-C, RN
Ambur became a RN in 2002; she earned her associate’s degree from Pima Community College. She started her nursing career at Northwest Medical Center, where she worked for six years in various departments, all with a cardiac emphasis. She returned to school to earn her BSN from Northern Arizona University in 2005. After the urging of a close friend, Ambur returned to school again to earn a master’s degree in nursing with the Family Nurse Practitioner emphasis in 2008. She returned to school one last time, to earn a terminal degree: Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2014.
As a family nurse practitioner, Ambur worked at a federally qualified health center in Tucson. Here she cared for patients of all ages, and managed both acute and chronic illnesses. She also worked retail health with a local pharmacy. She continued to manage patients of all ages with acute and chronic illnesses, along with travel medication and vaccine management. She has spent the last five years caring for the migrant community in various settings. She has also taught undergraduate nursing students and is currently a professor teaching doctoral family nurse practitioner students.
In her free time, Ambur enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. They love to travel whenever they can. She also enjoys taking walks and reading.
