Sara Brandal

FNP-C, MSN

Sara Brandal began practicing as a Registered Nurse in 2005 and has enjoyed a diverse career
working in multiple challenging fields, including inpatient Progressive Care/Step-down Intensive
Care, outpatient Cardiology and Cardiovascular Diagnostics, outpatient Cardiopulmonary
Rehabilitation, and Elementary School Nursing for children with special needs.
She attended graduate school at Northern Illinois University while continuing to work full time
as a Nurse. In 2014 she was awarded her Master of Science in Nursing with a focus in Family
Practice, graduating with an outstanding 3.8 GPA. Sara is certified Family Nurse Practitioner.
Sara’ focus of care is in preventative care, wellness and disease management. In her mose recent
position she has been practicing as a Primary Care Provider in outpatient Family Medicine. Her
professional interests include the management of type 2 diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol,
obesity/weight loss, ADHD, anxiety, depression, issues related to women’s health as well as
men’s health, and preventative care for adults and children. She is passionate about delivering
patient centered and results driven primary care to the entire family, using a “less is more”
approach when it comes to medications. She believes the key to successful chronic care
management is a balanced lifestyle that supports a healthy mind and body. Her favorite thing
about Family Practice is being able to take care of an entire family as well as the variety; every
day is different, and work never gets boring. She loves teaching patients about their chronic
conditions and how to manage them. She wants her patients to leave their appointment feeling in
charge of their own health.
Sara relocated to Arizona in July of 2019 with her husband, their two young boys, the family dog
and cat. When not at work, Sara spends most of her time chasing her kids, picking up toys,
reading children’s books in funny voices, and trying to keep her sons out of the pantry and away
from the hidden snacks. Her favorite food is coffee, and her favorite time of the year is season is
baseball. GO CUBS!!
