Kim graduated Magna Cum Laude from the BSN program at the University of Colorado Health Science Center (UCHSC) in 2003 and went on to work as an ER and ICU nurse at Swedish Medical Center, a Level 1 Trauma center in Englewood, CO. While in the hospital setting, her focus was on acute trauma, cardiac, and stroke care. She loved her work, but she was ready to take more of a proactive approach to healthcare instead of the reactive approach that tends to be necessary in the hospital.
In 2012, she graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Master of Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner degree from UCHSC. Since obtaining her NP degree, Kim’s experience has spanned geriatrics, urgent care, primary care, and cardiology. She chose the medical field because she wanted to make a difference in people’s lives by helping them achieve their best wellness.
Kim takes a collaborative, evidence-based approach with her patients, and she enjoys empowering and educating patients and their loved ones to be active members in their healthcare and in managing their chronic conditions. At HCS, she strives to bring accessible, high-quality, personalized medical care to the workplace.
When not at work, Kim is happiest exploring the outdoors, reading a good book, traveling to new places, and spending time with her husband, two young kiddos, and her lovable rescue dog.
